Lafayette- Mrs. Florence L. Barker, 86, died Wednesday at the Lafayette Healthcare Center where she had resided since 1976. Prior to that she had lived at 18 S. 4th St in Lafayette. Born in 1893, a daughter of Robert and Elizabeth Hensley, she was reared at Roachdale. She lived in Crawfordsville a number of years and was an employee of the former Crawford Hotel. She had resided in Lafayette the past 50 years. She was married to James Barker in 1929. He preceded her in death in 1933. She was a member of the Apostolic House of Prayer. Surviving is a son by a former marriage, Glenn W. Paugh of Lafayette; a sister, Una Hughes of Crawfordsville; six grandchildren 17 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. Services are at 10:30 a.m. Friday in Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel with Rev. James E. Jones officiating. Burial in Tippecanoe Memory Gardens. - kbz

Mrs. Florence L. Hensley Barker, 86, formerly of 18 S 4th St died at 12:55 a.m. today in Lafayette Healthcare Center where she had resided since 1976.  Born and reared at Roachdale, she lived at Crawfordsville and was employed there at the Crawford Hotel for a number of years before moving to Lafayette 50 years ago.  In 1929 she was married to James Barker who died in 1933.  Mrs. Barker was a member of Apostolic House of Prayer.  Surviving are a son by a former marriage, Glenn W. Paugh of Lafayette and one sister, Mrs. Una Hughes of Crawfordsville.

“Funeral Notices” – Barker, Mrs. Florence – Friends may call at Soller-Baker Lafayette Funeral Home from 5—8 p.m. Thursday. Service at 10:30 a.m. Friday in Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, the Rev. James E. Jones officiating.  Interment Tippecanoe Memory Gardens. Also surviving are six grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. - kbz
